Work This is a selection of projects I've been involved in.

A new star has been born. Mancx is now live.

Mancx.com is a new service on the web that lets you trade information with others. Mancx vision is to make any and all information available at the right price.

I’ve been working together with the Mancx-team as the art director during the process of conceptualizing, prototyping and visualizing of the gui. My work has consisted of creating and delivering photoshop files to the developers and assist them in the development process. It has been a fun and exciting time (and as always, struggling at some times) and the time has finally come for Mancx to push the big button and welcome users to their site.

I would like you to check out the site and place an ad if you’re in need of information that you don’t have today.

Freespee launch redesigned website and raise 1.1m euro

One of my last thing I did over at Freespee before I left for antrop, I made a facelift of the website. Since I work at antrop from the 1:st of february I was not around yesterday when Freespee launched the redesigned website together with info about the €1.1 million raised funding from Inventure.

Given that the new website has been launched I thought that I should give you some insights from the work! As the CEO Carl Holmquist tells in a blog post the main focus for the update of the website was to communicate better to and with the visitors.

The design was much like the previous one, but had some changes here and there, not to the least the information provided via the website.

A whole new site structure was designed and a focus towards three different areas of business was created and displayed.

Take a look at the website or read more about the funding and new website over at TechCrunch or Arctic Startup.

I’m joining Antrop!

After 2,5 years at Freespee the time has come for me to leave for a position as an Interaction Architect / Art Director at the Swedish usability and interaction design firm Antrop. I’m super-excited about my new job where I will work with very talented people and customers. Antrop has been around for about 10 years and have offices in Stockholm and Linköping. To mention a few customers antrop have worked with Stockholms Lokaltrafik, Riksgälden (Swedish National Debt Office), Posten (Swedens largest messaging and logistics operators), ABB, H&M.

It’s been a lot of fun with many different kind of challenges in my role as an Art Director at Freespee. I wish them the best of luck on their future journey to staying the leader in Call Tracking and Pay-Per-Call solutions for the Lead Generation industry.

Stikk.se – Now on OpenCart

Stikk.se is my personal project where I sell stickers for walls, laptops and Apple iPhone. As a part of another project I started to evaluate the Open Source e-commerce system OpenCart.

OpenCart is a neat little system that is by far the most easy e-commerce system I’ve come across. Over the years I’ve tried systems such as ZenCart, OsCommerce, Magento, Prestashop and now OpenCart. What I really love about OpenSource is the ability to change the core system and files whatever way you want.

The Admin inteface of OpenCart is easy to manage out-of-the-box, but every here and there you have specific needs that fit your needs. I personally wanted to improve the way to edit a product. Out of the box there is a “Edit”-link on every product to the right of your browser. After just a few products in the system and working with adding products/editing products I decided to add the “Edit”-link to the product name (and also the image). This small edit to the admin interface made my work so much faster. A small fix in the admin – but it has a huge positive effect on my work.

The design of Stikk.se isn’t very different from the previous version, but there has been some adjustments and improvements. Overall there is a new style with different link colors, another navigation that hopefully will make it easier for the visitor to browse the shop. Another thing that I gave som energy to was to create a neat shopping cart.

Out of the box the shopping cart is placed in a right column, but I personally like one-page layout on websites so the shopping cart was moved to the header. With some help from Google and other OpenCart users out there I managed to code som PHP and style the shopping cart to the exact idea I had in my mind for my new shopping cart.

Overall I’m very pleased with the new system and hopefully my customers will be too!

Seacart26.com

Recently I have been working together with a client coding and styling of the all-new website for SeaCart 26.

The SeaCart 26 boat is a 26-foot trimaran made by Oceanlake Marine. They client were in need of a website where potential visitors could learn more about the boat and make a pre-order. The client had the design ready and my mission was to code the website.

The website is built on WordPress with plugins like WP Super Cache, Page columnist, NextGen Gallery, jQuery Lightbox.

A gallery was very important for the client, since they based their sales on 3d rendered images of the boat. NextGen Gallery is one of the most popular photo plugin for WordPress and is very powerful. With a little customization you can also create your own templates for viewing photos in galleries and slideshows.

As with every WordPress site the best SEO plugin “All in one SEO” is used. The plugin provides the very basic needs when it comes to SEO and is a must-have with WordPress! To split up the content from the loop “Page Columnist” is used. A neat little tool that uses the page-wrap function in WordPress to split up content in several columns. For SeaCart 26 a 2-column layout was used.

Poster for available jobs

At Freespee I did a small poster (A3) to put on notice boards across Uppsala University’s computer science department. The message says something similar to “Are you done with this now? Freespee’s looking for people. Apply at freespee.com/newjobs”.

Logo: Stikk

Stikk is Swedens most alternative stickershop, where you can buy stickers for walls, laptops and iPhone. It’s a personal project that started off early 2010. The brand design was created in a short process and ended up in something I was quite pleased with. But now the time has come for a new facelift – starting off with the logo.

“Simple and playful” was my motto with the new logo, and I think both aspects got covered!

Freespee.com

Freespee.com is the website of my current employer. The company was about to launch their biggest product release and the website was in need of a redesign.

The new website was developed by me (Graphics in Photoshop/Illustrator and coding in php/css/xhtml). The main purpose with the site was to make it a portal for all Freespee visitors and users, everyone from high executives to “ordinary” civilians. A generic theme was created for the site, to match the different applications such as Freespee Analytics, Freespee Voice and Talky.

A carousel is used to display latest news and different cases.

Logo: Freespee

Freespee is my current employer where I’ve worked since fall 08′. One of my first challenges was to rebrand the company. First and foremost I started off with the logotype. The original logo was a green circle filled with gradients from green, yellow and white. I saw the transformation from a bud to a fully grown flower as a theme for the change. The colors where slightly changed and the flower was born. The typeface landed on Helvetica Rounded.

The previous logo before I joined Freespee.

Logo: Node Geo Survey

Node Geo Survey is a company that specializes in advanced geo spatial services. In plain english it’s all about measuring the seafloor of the ocean.

My work with Node Geo Survey consisted of giving them a brand identity. I created a logo, website and optimized it for search engine results. The instructions from the client was to create a simple and minimalistic logo that was easy to understand. I chose the typeface News Gothic MT and created the three “waves” under the letter “o”, as a symbol of a radar measuring the underlying surface.

Bringing ideas to life is all about sketching, sketching and a little more sketching! Here’s the initial drawings from my first meeting with the client.
